Principal's Welcome

Greetings Families! 

Welcome to the 23-24 School Year!  

I trust that everyone had a great summer break even though it might have felt too short. 

As we begin our second year, we wanted to share that our theme this year at BEVA will focus on “Building for Our Future”. In the spirit of our theme, here are a few items that will support our growth as a school:  

  • Every Monday @ 8:30 a.m., we are starting our school day with a school wide assembly-the purpose of which is to cultivate our school culture, including sharing key updates and message points.  This week our theme is “Beaver Basics”.  Parents are also welcome to join.
  • To support our Social Emotional Growth, we has added to our support staff, two key positions:

Psychiatric Social Worker (PSW) and Pupil Service Attendance (PSA) Counselor. 

  • This year, our main academic progressing monitoring source will be iReady.  This platform will be administered three times this year.  Our assessment schedule will be posted on our web page.
  • Every BEVA Beaver will complete an Individual Learner Profile.  This will help our staff with identifying any supports your child may need on a daily basis.
  • Our Webpage platform has changed to Edlio.
 

As the principal, I could not be prouder of our school’s growth last year.  With that, I wanted to share a few key reminders and expectations:

  • School starts at 8:30 am every day.  Please remind your student to log on through his/her Schoology course.
  • Daily Participation including discussion, collaboration, and engaging in class lessons   
  • Technology Equipment (LAUSD Device, Earphones, Screen) and internet.
  • Quiet Place to Focus
  • Creating Routines (ie Check Email Daily)
  • Organization: Calendar, planner, workstation set up with supplies
  • Supplies: Paper, pencils, coloring and art supplies
  • Completion and Quality of Record of Assignments on time
  • Attend Weekly Check In with Teacher. This is open to all parents.
