Principal's Welcome

Dear Business and Entrepreneurship Virtual Academy Students and Families,

It is with great humility and enthusiasm that I, Marco Tolj, introduce myself as the Principal of our new Business and Entrepreneurship Virtual Academy (BEVA).  Along with our hardworking team, I want to officially welcome everyone to the 2022-23 school year.

As we begin our journey together, I wanted to share with each of you that our team is here to create an engaging, robust and impactful instructional program for all of our TK-12 students and families.  Our Business and Entrepreneurship areas of focus will allow us to create opportunities and partnerships that will give students unique experiences.

Understanding that we have a lot of work ahead of us, we want to stress the importance of collaboration, communication and commitment. Our BEVA community will benefit immensely with each member contributing in a positive and healthy manner and committing to a shared responsibility mindset.

As we prepare for the opening of the school year, we want to remind parents that/to:

·         Each parent/student must complete and return a signed Master Agreement, which will be distributed by teachers.

·         Support your student’s prompt attendance in each zoom session and readiness to engage. Here are examples of Elementary and Secondary Schedule.

·         Support your student in completing all assignments given by the teacher and submit them to Schoology. Completing assignments in a timely manner is extremely important and directly tied to attendance.  Without assignment completion, attendance credit will not be issued.

·         Connect and build a relationship with your child’s teacher

·         Encourage your student to join a virtual school club (List of clubs will be ready by October)

·         Review LAUSD Parent Handbook available on Parent Portal

In addition, we would like to extend an invitation to all of our parents to volunteer for any of the following committees/events:

·         School Leadership Committees (School Site Council)

·         WASC Accreditation (Building of Mission and Vision)

·         Student/Staff Recognition Webinar

·         Graduation/Culmination

Lastly, in preparation for our school year, we will be hosting our first BEVA Townhall Webinar on August 10, 2022 at 5pm; please save the date.  Agenda and Flyer will be forthcoming.

Again, we look forward to meeting each of you and having a successful 2022-23 school year.  If you need any additional support, please email me at marco.tolj@lausd.net

Warm regards,

Marco Tolj
